There is no staggered fitment in this model year so you are on your own. But if I can offer you a piece of advice (I have the same car) - do not go 20s as ride will suffer and you will be bending rims. My car came with the amg package and about two months into it all wheels were bent and i went with 18” less aggressive setup. Haven’t looked back. Also lowering will result in less pressure in the airmatic which will result in premature shock failure. Some Mercedes shocks have no problem running lower/ less pressure but the 221 shocks are sensitive and will fail. The 350 is not a sports car and trying to improve its handling is just not rewarding. You have been warned

what does that mean there is no staggered fitment on this model?

i believe there is no w221 diesel with different size wheels from the factory... thus i am not sure unless you -really- match the overall diameter of the tires front to back that the 4matic can tolerate any difference in sizes. it might have been a fluke, but the only overheated center diff i have seen on a w221 4matic was one that was driven on a spare tire for 100 miles at highway speeds...

I've been running 20's for 3 years and have never bent a wheel. In fact, the ride quality when I switch to my 18's for winter duty is almost indistinguishable from my summer 20's. Perhaps it's the ABC suspension keeping the ride compliant.

this absolutely. i run 20s with very low profile tires on my sl65 and i have not had ride issues... still i do bend wheels, but i think this is par for new england.

so what kind of tires for 20" does one have to use for a 4matic to try and match the rotation

sorry for the questions, i've never owned a 4matic and never had this issue.

255/35/R20 if you're looking to stay square.

has anyone done these wheels??? 20x9 et35 20x10.5 et35 (or whatever to make it flush as these are custom made offsets) 255/40/20
275/35/20

http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-MRR-VP3-Wheels-Set-For-Audi-S4-S5-S6-S8-20x9-0-Inch-Squared-Rims-Set-4-/382230325693?hash=item58feb3e9bd:g:mfUAAOSwLVZV30Z 2&vxp=mtr

since the ET is custom on these what would be a perfect flush offset and tires to go with this? in case i order these.

are these good for a 4 matic

Big wheels make a difference

Changing from the std wheels to bigger wheels will make a noticeable difference in road noise and ride comfort. It will still ride pretty good, but more like an e class.

I can't speak to wheel damage on my s classes, but I had no problem recognizing a change in ride quality when I test drove s classes with the AMG wheels. I can say that I've had tire blowouts at highway speeds with my wife's e350 that has the AMG wheels. Have to say that when the right front tire on the e350 blew at 70mph, I almost couldn't tell I had a flat. The car stayed completely straight and stable.

Let me tell you about Mercedes pizza cutter wheels, they are designed so the edge of the rim goes thru the sidewall, I have had custom and upsized factory wheels on everything for the last 15 years and never had a blowout, my stock 19" amg wheels on my benz I got a blow out the 1st or 2nd month I owned the car and sure enough rim cut thru the sidewall. I removed those wheels and changed the design. currently running a 255-35-20 and 275-35-20 on 8.5 fr and 9.5 staggered rims w a 35mm offset and they sit nice and flush to the wheel well.

That said the upgrade from the 19" to 20" I dont see any notable loss of comfort.
