I did not had any fault code on my dashboard. Suddenly the car could not be started anymore. The Mercedes Benz service comunicated me that i have to replace this 2 parts in order to fix the car. A0009064703( power electronics module) and A2213400600 (hybrid battery). For the hybrid battery they told me that the warranty is 9 years. Do you have any oficial information regarding this ? maybe the warranty period for the power electronics module also ?
I will ask the MB service to send me all the information that they have if you think necessary. Thank you so much for help.
Hi, how did fix this problem? I interested if you repair this old hybrid module or replace with new one?
Still not been able to make repair, mostly because of the prices for those parts. I have been able to found some information that regard a particular ,,repair,, on my car in 2016.
Practically it was a replacement, replacent that has been done under the power of a Service Campaign Bulletin (No. 2015030006, June 2015)....the damage code that appeared on my car(Picture A, first pozition 26.05.2016) is the same with that described in this SCB form June 2015 (page 5, damage code)...So it is very clear for me that the Power Electronics Module( A0009064703) has been replaced.
I have asked everywhere the warranty period for this part number...this part was replaced under the force of a Service Campaign...The goal, purpose of this S.C.B. was the replacement of the Power Electronics Module( A0009064703) which was probably defective from the construction ..it was not changed because it has failed during normal use........It was replced because they did not manage to solve the problems with this PEM by the software update that has been tried in 2012 (Campaign No. 2012080004, November 2012). I think that this situation might be favorable to me from the warranty point of wiew.
But until this moment i have not received an answer from Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz Romania, regarding the warranty period...or from Mercedes Benz Netherland or Stern Auto Amsterdam (where this car had the maintenance from 2010 until 2017) regarding this 541 handler where the replacement has been done.
Maybe someone can help me to identify this 541 handler/ service shop/ id number from an MB service authorized from Netherland ..because i want to contact them and asked info about that 2016 operation...i do not have any option to pay the ammount that they have asked...so..i follow this trail of a possible replcement under warranty . I have chated with Mercedes Benz Netherland and Stern Auto Amsterdam regarding this....they promised that they will come back with an answer....but the have not answered until now.
I found some replacement option for this part on AliExpress (1800 $)..but not sure how reliable are this parts...
Regarding the HV baterry i understood that this can be repaired at a rezonable cost, I didn't think much about it.
Thanks for your information, i manage to solve my problem( based on your information )and repair the car.
I bought a second hand Power Electronic Module from Lituania with 1400 $ plus another 800 $ repairing, diagnosis costs at the Mercedes Benz repairing service. The HV baterry did not need to be replaced..the error for this item was probably as a consequence of the Power Electronic Module malfunction.
Still waiting for reply from MB Romania and Daimler AG regarding the warranty and some other warranty related questions that i have asked.
Our company successfully repairs the High-Voltage Battery (HVB) and Power Control Module. If you haven't solved your problem let me know. We will be glad to help.
Hi,
Hope that i am posting correctly on this thread....i think that my problem could be related to my AC COMPRESSOR not working issue. (S400 HIBRYD, YEAR 2010)
As you can see from my previous messages i have replaced the Power Control ModuleA0009064703.
It was almost winter when i solved the problem so i did not observed that the AC is not working...i was not need of AC at that moment.
My question is:
The AC compressor should/needs some how to be linked to the the new PCM ? Some operations that needs to be done via Star program from MB?
I have no problem, the car is running fine. I have made a programation to the M.B. local dealer.
I have received an answer from another M.B. forum and it looks like the had to do this operation when they installed the new P.C.M.
This info has been provided by Konigstiger, please see attachment.
When you got the engine running without hybrid, which ECU have you used, what tool did you use to program the ECU, to which car type/what values have you programmed the ECU? I tried variant encoding with DAS on the original ME17.7 (all errors gone except one: high voltage missing) and I tried virginized ME9.7 from E350 (I'm in USA), but I'm not able to program it. Thanks a lot!
Hello Gabriel. I need help me with similar problem. Can you Find me on Facebook?

BTW, after several months we are getting close with my mechanic to figuring out a complete professional conversion of S400 hybrid to no hybrid, S350 like solution. Reliable and more fuel efficient than S550.
I believe we are the first in the USA doing this and soon anyone who is interested in a permanent fix of all hybrid issues can have it done by shipping the car to Tampa, Florida area. As QiChuang said, it is a BIG job so please don't even ask how it's done, it's harder than e.g. swapping or rebuilding engines or pretty much any job a dealership would be performing on a car. At least when doing the first time. For example I had to call like 20 machine shops to find someone able to do a needed machining not to mention the obvious problems of programming and integrating the electronics etc.
So please watch this space for more info, I'm estimating a few more weeks to have everything tested and sorted out. Thanks.
High voltage can be deadly, that's why Mercedes training course for S400 mechanics goes to a great extend in requiring proper electrical system shut down procedure using the DAS system, covering all the connectors etc and even requiring a fence to be put around the car to prevent unauthorized people from coming close. Things like the large capacitor inside the Power Electronics control module can give a nasty shock even if disconnected from everything etc.
All not bad with some experience, but not a good first car to practice learning car repairs. This, plus a rarity of the S400 result in most mechanics (even MB authorized dealers) not wanting to touch it.
Have you found the way to make the non-hybrid conversion? If so please let me know, I’m very interested in that.

Hi @fgs yes, the S400 is converted to run without the hybrid stuff, just like the S350 runs in Europe/the rest of the world. I believe it is the first and only such conversion in USA or Europe so far (was also done in Asia as mentioned above). The car drives, breaks, steers and shifts smoothly, no error lights on the dash at all! A couple of small things remain and will be fixed time permitting.
It has taken several months (part time) and definitely it is a VERY complex project, not something for an average Mercedes repair shop. I would not start it if I knew what I was getting into :-). But it's done now.
The plan going forward is that my mechanic can now do the conversion for interested people who bring/ship the car to his shop (Tampa Bay, Florida area). Where are you located and is shipping to Florida an option? In any case please feel free to message me to discuss more. Thanks!
This sounds great, my S400 recently stopped working with battery malfunction alert. I’ve been investigating about the MB hybrids issues and I don’t want to spend such money in the dealer shop.
I tried to message you directly, but the system didn’t let me. Could we get contact by WhatsApp or email?
