Starting brake job on my S600.
Got the left front done before dark. Pads were nearly metal to metal.
Zimmermann rotors
Akebono pads
Wish all brake work was this easy.

It would appear you disassembled the caliper to paint the outer piston cover. If you removed this you may have compromised the caliper so be careful the first time you take it for a drive. Don't forget to torque the caliper bolts to 200 foot lbs. I probably would have painted the entire caliper. Anyway, looks good.

After cleaning I sprayed with ArmorAll Outlast brake dust replant. Painting the whole caliper would been too complicated just for cleaning it unless I took it off the car and put it in the bead blaster. I'm not doing a restoration. Besides, I think the contrast between the painted part and the cast iron behind it makes it stand out better.

Aticovi, where did you get the MERCEDES - BENZ script on the front caliper? IIs that vinyl? and if so will it stand up to the brake heat? Mine is due soon for a similar cleanup and would love to add something similar, as currently there is nothing there. Wifes E class has that but on a "plate" of some sort on the back of the piston bores....
Thanks in advance!

Yes vinyl. Just put them on so I don't know how they will hold up. Got an extra pair if you want for $5 tossed in an envelope. The hard part was separating the backing from the transfer tape, the letters kept sticking to the backing.
