2012 S350 Diesel low rpm at idle
Hi,
I have an issue on my 2012 S350 ... engine at idle stays at 500rpm about 90% of times and 700 the other 10%. It doesn't fluctuates up and down, the short time it is at 700 it stays like that for 10-15 minutes (obviously I'm driving during this time so at stop lights is 700) and then drops to 500rpm. Hooked up the scanner (Xentry/DAS) and no codes listed. I had a complete clean of the intake and an EGR valve replaced when I took the car in for the infamous oil filter gasket leak replacement. New fuel filter as well.
Has anybody experienced this? Any ideas what else I could try?

Unfortunately not. I even took it to a Mercedes dealer and was willing to pay the inflated diagnostic fee ... even them were not able to find out the problem.

Why you think this is a problem? Did you check actual RPM with scanner? It should be around 580 RPM idle. Only during DPF regen, or when AC is on and it is hot outside the idle RPM jump to 750.
Or also if the battery is low then idle RPM jumps to 750 so alternator can charge the battery.

Why you think this is a problem? Did you check actual RPM with scanner? It should be around 580 RPM idle. Only during DPF regen, or when AC is on and it is hot outside the idle RPM jump to 750.
