2011 S600
Climate Control gremlins
2011 S600..Climate control works fine when in manual mode via the Command knob. Put it on AUTO and odd things happen...like 120* heat out of the drivers side front corner vent and no where else. Moving the controls will eventually get things to return to normal...but then an additional fan (rear blower perhaps) can be heard switching on and off way too loud for an S Class. Also noticed the engine fan not running the other day with the AC on.
Car had to go in for some 80K service and they say code shows the "stepper motor" is bad. So.....I would think, that Benz uses these things on all the little doors and flaps behind the dash. Just how many of these are there in there, are they the same part #? And no, I really don't want to tear out the dash on this car... Just some ammo to use on the service writer if needed.
