This is on my 2007 S600.
I've searched and searched and cannot find a DIY to replace this part. It is easy to get to, but one of the bolts is blocked by the black metal pipe that goes around the oil filter in this photo. I believe it is a coolant line. My question is, can I remove this without losing too much fluid? Is the system pressurized and will I cause problems by opening it up? The part I'm replacing is the black disc shaped oil separator to the right of the oil filter. It is leaking oil down the front of the engine. In addition, if anyone has done this procedure, what is behind the oil separator? Is there a cam seal or any other seal that I should order that may also be leaking? Thank you for any help
It's coolant and it won't be pressurized when cold. Wait for the car to cool off and then take it off. You'll spill some (don't let your dog out in the garage for a drink!).
thank you very much! Is there a site or somewhere I am able to find diagrams like this and possibly repair instructions for future issues? Even if I have to pay for it?
