Squealing Brakes and Parking guidance error messages at highway speed
Purchased Used W221 2009 S550
Brakes were loud had them serviced still loud. A problem we had with our 2004 S500
When we are driving on the highway or even in traffic the Parking guidance comes on says its not available and to consult owners manual. The dealership act like this is normal. I can't believe it is. We are changing dealerships. Any advice or is this unique to my W221

My 2007 s600 does the parking guidance unavailable warning and beeps loudly. I searched this forum and found many threads on the topic. It does appear to be common and somewhat normal. It's interference with other cars/radar from stores, etc... The only thing they can do is use STAR to reduce the sensitivity to the system. Mine usually does it in the same spots on my local streets. I turn it off on the dash before I get to those spots so it doesn't bother me. Try pressing the button that turns off parking guidance and see if it stops. The loud brakes are a separate issue I think.

It is the system that the dealer and most independent Mercedes shops use to hook up the computer system. They will have it. I think thanking me adds it to my stats. thanks! This forum is very helpful. You'll get a lot of help when you need it.
