S Won't start :(

Hi Guys, hope that I can find some ideas before I call the tow truck.

2009 S550 104k Miles

Issue: Car was running fine, turned off in the driveway and that was it. Car won't turn over at all. you can press the start , nothing, you can try with the key nothing , no click, no attempt to start, nothing, I replaced the battery because I found the old one low in voltage, nothing, I have checked the start fuse, it looks good, checked the two start relays looks OK, changed the key batteries nothing, the only thing that I have notice is that you can lock the car but the mirrors won't fold in as usual, not sure if that's related to anything, last year, I replaced the small battery and all the info appears on the display as normal.

Anything I should look into?

From experience with other cars not starting as you describe, you might check the nenegative ground connection (not the terminal). I have no clue where the cable attaches or how but I know what happens if that connection is not secure or clean. And it's probably hard to get to.

Good luck.

Check power to the starter first. Common failure at this age/mileage, and presents like you say, just goes from working to dead.

+1 for the starter. Had a Honda do the exact same thing. It ended up being the starter, it just up and died while I was pumping the gas and went to start it again.

That's when you bust out the trusty hammer and give the starter a good solid whack!

Well, maybe not on a Benz starter, but I've gotten other cars moving with that trick...
