Adding aux audio input

Trying to bypass my faulty iPod connection with this aux in setup. Does anyone know which wires he’s splicing Into to create the RCA audio input. Video attached.

Just get a Tune2Air and plug it into the iPod connector and connect via bluetooth.

That’s just it. My iPod plug and module are damaged. (Confirmed by swapping with a friends). I’m trying to integrate another Bluetooth source similar to the tune2air (coolstream duo) but need to tap into the wires to create an audio input. It was done on my 07 s550 but I never took note of the wires before the car was sold. I see the guy in the video has done it but I can’t seem to figure which wires he tapped into.

If you were able to swap with a known working one, wouldn't that also mean you could identify exactly which part of the kit was defective? The module and the cable are separate parts that can be sourced via ebay.

Did this on my 2007 s550

Get any cable like this

https://m.ebay.com/itm/Car-MP3-Playe...kAAOSwjXNaXvMI

remove pins from the connector shipped with cable. So you are left with an aux wire with 3 wires with pin blades.

take out panel pieces by cd changer/command , remove command , unplug , unclip first plug from big command harness. There are youtube videos on this procedure its pretty easy 8 torx screws.

Insert 2 pins from ebay cable to empty pins on car connector. The connector is labeled with some pin numbers for reference.

Input wire into empty pin 5 is right audio (red wire usually)
Input wire into empty pin 15 is left audio (white wire usually)

you now have a yellow wire left for the cable, the ground wire, harness says pin 6 or 16 , when I tired both I got bad feedback, when wired without a ground it worked perfect. Playing aux via iphone , it plays perfect. Ymmv I taped off the yellow and left it disconnected. So far it works great.

in the aux menu turn off logic 7 3d sound , with 3d on it only played on back speakers.

I saw countless posts about the aux but all of the information is either incomplete or incorrect. Posts talk about everything but what you need to know specifically

hope this helps others.

My setup worked with Logic 3D on or off:
Get Aux Input programmed through XENTRY or Star Dignostics (set to present)

HARD WIRED:
White - 5
Red - 6
Yellow - 15

I was hoping to use this hardware. The coolstream duo turns on automatically when started and 30 pin iPhone wire provides power to the unit. All connected through the female RCA input. My question is where to I connect the two wires from the RCA jack?
