2013 s550 trunk issue

Strange thing started happening recently. Approximately 30 sec after opening the trunk, the latch clicks open again without any buttons being pushed. When the trunk is closed before 30 secs after opening it will not stay closed, lid goes down, latch closes and opens back up within seconds and the lid goes up again. If I wait until the 30 sec click, the trunk closes normally. It happens consistently without any variations.
I cannot recall anything unusual happening to the car, no work has been done, the battery was not disconnected or discharged. I understand that I may have to end up at the dealer, but would prefer to try other options first if someone experienced similar issue.
Thanks in advance,
Ivan

Hide the remote far away and try again.

Sound like something needs reset somewhere. Sometimes when the windows act up and auto down/up stops sometimes, you can fix by holding the window button down for like 15 sec after the window is already down. And it will fix it.

Maybe try holding the trunk button on remote down for 20 sec? Maybe, just giving free thoughts
