2006 w221 check engine
The check engine light has been there for a bout a month now..I thought the sprk plugs could be the reason .I changed the spark plugs recently but the check engine is still there.I did nto drive the car for about 4 days.today when I started it,the engine started shaking.I turned of the ngine & started the car again,the shaking stopped but the check engine is still there steady.When the car was shaking the check engine light was flashing.when I restarted the car,the check engine is there btu steady.
Any ideas?

Also, I highly recommend you refrain from driving the vehicle like this as it sounds almost certainly like a misfire, and will allow inburned fuel to enter the catalytic converters and damage them in addition to the O2 sensors if not remediated. If you can start it and it is running smooth, drive straight to a dealer or your tech of preference and have it repaired.
