To 22 or not to 22

Finished product
Got the rims and tires sorted out. Went with Asanti Black Label ABL-13 245/30/22 front 295/25/22 rear. Think it looks good. Due to roads in my area don’t think I’ll lower it right now.

22 only look good when there is a LIP. Then it looks like a 21". 22's in person look way too big and much easier to mess up and rim and tire. The consensus on here will tell all. Or a 20" and lowering links, will give same look as a 21". Ride quality will be the best of both worlds.

Hello all!
I'm new to this forum but I just wanted to share this if someone is still wondering 22" or not 22".
I had 20" ugly rims when I bought this car and it was still in stock height. Actually I like both 20" and 22" but it really needs lowering, otherwise it looks dump. I haven't driven with those 22" inch wheels yet because I'm working abroad and I lifted it back to stock height because I left the car for my dad and I wasn't sure how those wheels will fit in if lowered. Rear tyres are 295/25-22 so I had the same common problem as almost everyone else. That little edge from the bumber/fender joint touched the tyres while driving on a highway.
I have LoMo lowering module and I will lower it down when I get back home because now it looks like a tractor.
20" wheels when I bought this car (stock height)
20" inch winter wheels (lowered a little bit)
20" inch winter wheels (lowered a little bit)
22" inch summer wheels (stock height)

Can you explain this further? I have a 2008 S63, it has ABC. I was considering going with some larger wheels but I want to keep at least the same thickness of the factory tires. Looking at the factory wheels and tires in the wheel well, it looks like there is only about 1.5" of clearance between the tire and the bolt from the control arm.
