2007 S550 push button not starting car

My main battery completely died a few weeks ago and I finally got it replaced today. However, the push button does not work now. The key starts it up immediately right away with no problem. The push button will turn the accessories on and off, but it won't start the car now. It worked fine before the battery died a few weeks ago. I tried with both key fobs right next to the push button, and I don't think it's the battery in the key fob (especially since I replaced one of them not too long ago). Any thoughts on why the push button now is starting accessories but not the car? When they put in the new battery under the hood, is it possible that there's something they needed to do that wasn't done to allow the pushbutton to start the car? Any suggestions?

The only thing that comes to mind that could cause that is a faulty brake switch. Does one press turn on accessories (turn on SRS light), or illuminate the entire cluster?

@Polar Bear he did say the accessories came on and off with the push button, could be the brake switch as you said, he can test that by checking there lights when the car is running, or it can also be a fault code thats preventing the keyless go from starting the car as a safety, or maybe they popped a fuse... need to scan car with a proper scan and try full clear, then try again...

An important detail would be if it placed it in position 1 or position 2 when the KG button was pressed. If the brake is depressed and it only activates position 1 (illuminating the cluster and the SRS light on momentarily) it sounds like a faulty brake switch. If the gauges come up and all lights come on during the "testing" phase, it is detecting the brake is depressed.
