Correct place to mount oem iPod interface behind command
I am trying to get a picture of where exactly the oem iPod interface mounts behind the command unit. The reason I ask is that I have a few modules behind it. One module is from navtv for the rear camera and now one for the DVD player. Plus the iPod interface. I see that the iPod interface has a double stick tape. Anyone can help ? Let me know exactly where it mounts.

It goes above the command unit, meaning there is a little shelf at the top of the opening with the command unit out. I used velcro adhesive to affix it to the top.

Concur, I recently replaced my COMAND display with the Android unit and the IPod box is as EasyPhil describes. There's a small shelf above the COMAND unit (DVD Changer), just behind the A/C vents and clock.
