all you do is disconnect the battery - for about 10 to 20 mins) then reconnect and the CGW tries to reboot normal

you don't ever touch the CGW or fiddle with its wires - that will likely make things worse - as the rest of the car is often still awake and you're messing with the master network controller and likely more of the car gets even more muddled

Yeah that actually is a good idea. Was trying to think if mine ever went up but for the life of me I can't remember. I own this car for about 4 years and I always kept the sterring wheel in the lower position but one day was doing something and tried to raise it and it wouldn't. I can hear the motor trying to move when I move the stick but it doesn't move. Some people suggested to push hard on the bottom of the steering wheel while trying to bring it up with the stick. That didn't work but truthfully I didn't really push too hard since I was worried that I would do more damage to it.

if it makes a noise - then something's broken - if it was in the cut out - as movement limits not set - it would be 100% silent

I have mine nearly max out and def max down - and I have the seat as high as possible - its the ONLY way I can drive the car without visiting an osteopath everyday
the lumbar is so wrong, in so many places, if one allows your arms to rest on the centre or door arm rest, its set up a horrific muscle cramp in my upper back that no other car on the planet has ever managed

arms dangling free from your shoulders is key to reduced shoulder stress when sat at a desk typing rubbish all day long - when young and stupid you can last quite a few years before it becomes a real issue - But one should try not to build the damage - arm rests are not how nature built your body - nor how your forearms should sit with a desk that’s too high

Yep you definitely hear the click so I was hoping if I pushed it up from under maybe it will come loose but it didn't. We still cold here in New England so once summer comes I will mess with it ...Thanks for the suggestions 👍

....just had a brain refresh... when its limits are not set - it will not move in three directions... the fourth plane it will want you to make it travel to that ones max limit - then all 4 planes wake up and you move each of them to their extremes and the memory will regain function

so not noise at all is incorrect - but I'd heed the info post #17

Yes I am worried that the plastic bits are broken as well....I actually have been looking at a W222 with 34K miles for about $50K but my car only has 67K miles so I am going back and fourth with the decision ☹️ The problem is I only drive about 3 - 4K a year since I have other cars. I would hate to spend that kind of money just for the car to sit in the garage. At the same time I would like some newer 🤔

looking at that madness two clear points

1) its no-wonder the cars are 1000kg overweight
2) its clear why the very first action I did upon buying the car was to go in comand and turn that junk off for ever more....
