s550 vs s600 door panel

What is the quality and material difference in the door panels, thinking of putting 600 door panels in my 550. Does the 600 have plastic door (grab to close by the armrest) handle like the 550?

2007 S600
When I looked at my S600, there was a gorgeous green S550 parked right next to it. I was tempted, but the S600 was ALL leather (alcantara for the headliner) and the S550 was mostly plastic. I don't know if leather was an option or not; to be honest that's the only W221 S550 I've ever looked at closely.

S600 has superior interior materials to the S550 unless the S550 comes with a Designo edition. S550 is mostly plastic and vinyl except for leather in the seating surfaces, steering wheel and some trim.

The difference between Designo in S550 and Designo in S600 is minimal, with S600 e,g, having wood trim instead of plastic in the gap behind the handles.

Of course the advantage of the plastic/vinyl interior is that's much more durable and easier to clean/easier to keep in a good condition.

If the color etc matches the rest of your S550, replacing all the door panels (or replacing the whole interior for that matter) is a nice upgrade getting rid of all the plastic and vinyl. Unless you got some special deal on standard S600 interior, I would look for the Designo donor. Of course you need to do the work yourself, otherwise the labor could get very expensive. As the interior is important to me (that's where I am when using the car :-) I've replaced complete interiors in two of my other cars before and was very satisfied with the results - e.g. when the manufacturer did not produce a combination of options and colors I wanted.
