I really doubt it. For one thing, you'd be stuck if you had a dead fob battery. Your fob inserts into the dash for emergency start. The new keys communicate via NFC by setting them in a spot on the console if their battery is dead. Also, the new keys have a different handshaking protocol with the car for security. They time out when not moved. If a timed-out key is sitting in the car, the car will wake it up using radio communication. The technology of the keys are very different.
