W221 S500 Facelift (comand ntg 3.5)
so why would an MMI lead with the plug they forgot about when the world went normal not work (when everyone went to a fully functioning USB socket)
https://configurator.mercedes-benz-a...er_A0038270904
that would infer they are incompetent and write random standards and ad hoc software and have no idea what they are doing????

So I have no choice but to buy an Android radio for the W221 so that I can use normal entertainment in 2020, right?

Video iPod Cable for Media Interface Plus https://www.commandonline.co.uk/vide...face_plus.html so that's saying an addon cable to the Bluetooth add on ?????

so some got a video connection via the nasty yellow thing. Where you didn't get things to work near the start of the post here COULD depend upon the bit you have bought.
you can get 3.5mm phono in more than one variety
basic with two connections = mono sound
three connections = stereo for headphones
four connections = stereo and a mic (used to be for a headset on a PC or old nokia phone with a mic half way down the wire) thus you could use the mic connector as a nasty video connection the yellow garbage
so did you buy a stereo connector to the MI or a video MI connector lead ?

Before I buy unnecessary new cables, I read that if you have a rear view camera installed at the factory, the VIDEO AUX port no longer works because it uses the same connection.
Can anybody confirm this?
thanks
can't confirm, re your question....it would seem utter madness that they did that …. but then again its a Mercedes...…
do you have TV, never tried but mine has aux video in and out.... maybe that's what the video aux switching was really for ???
but people make toys that might get around single input if that's how they really built it ... pricey though
