Mufflers

Hello guys I have questiin about muffler difference between s600 and s550.

I have W221 s600 and previous owner deleted cats and mufflers. Although car sound good and screaming I don't like sound inside car. I am not that kind of person I really don't enjoy it. I feel like I am sitting in a can.

Problem is that in my country there is no s600 for part only s550. I am wondering is it possible to install mufflers from s550. What are advantages and disadvantages? Or there is other solution for cabin sound. I am only annoyed that I hear it even on low rpms.

the cats and mufflers will work on you car from s550, fitment might be an issue, but a good muffler shop an make it happen. it might looked chopped up, but noise in the car will be greatly reduced.

Although they have different part number,
some sellers claim that s450, s550 (some of them says even s600) have same mufflers.
Makes no sense...

Very likely they are the same form factor -- size and shape. That would make sense. The internals would likely be different, which would explain the different part numbers. Will they all WORK on any of the cars? Sure, just not exactly the same as factory. What would be different -- well, that is a question that could only be answered by someone who has tested it.

Depends on the weather
Just look at pictures of an oem s550 exhaust and the S600 oem exhaust and compare mounting locations, etc.

I have a full S65 exhaust on mine. I actually heard mine for the first time from outside of the car when I used valet last month and they were pulling away and I was literally like WOW, I didn't even know it sounded like that because I can't hear it from the inside. I know when I start it up it's loud as heck and sounds ANGRY until it idles down after about 10-15 seconds.
