W221 rear subframe

Can the bushes on the rear subframe be changed without removing the subframe entirely? I have seen a video using a special tool to press out the bushes, but don't know how realistic that is. I have also seen a post saying a bearing puller will do the job, but again, is that true? There are 4 bushes on the frame comprising 2 on the front and 2 on the rear. The fronts apparently push out from the bottom, and are refitted from the top, the rears are vice versa. Any experience of this? Don't suppose it is an uncommon job on high mileage cars.

Yes you can. Drop one side at a time, keep two bushes on the other side fitted, just lower a few inches, and watch out for exhaust and brake pipe fouls.

If you try to lower the whole subframe it gets very much more difficult.
