New projects in the works

Is anydone doing anything new to their cars lately? So many things being planned and currently in the works and a few hints below of two of them, which are probably easy to guess.

A quick pic from the nice sunny day today.

Thanks. I'm riding as it is in the pic right now. It was lower than this but I keep adjusting until i figure out exactly where I want it.

As for brakes, the 8 piston front and 4 piston rear calipers, larger rotors, etc. is on the way. Thinking of a color for the calipers...yellow is on my list...red is so common, silver is fine but blends in so much with the car and current wheels. I think I may do the same wheels in black and the yellow calipers will give a pop of color.

It looks perfect to me. It sits like it should!

Those brakes look great as well and I agree with your colors. Yellow looks amazing and it will definitely pop. I am in process of doing some upgrading as well. Did the bumpers first and the exhaust. Now going back and fourth with the wheels. Bought a set but just didn't do it for me so I put them up for sale. It was just too much black and not a real contrast. May go for the same wheels but in Silver. Have to sell the black ones first lol

Looking good. I agree, I like black on black in some cases but I like a little contrast somewhere.

Time to get the fronts cleaned, sanded, and primed for paint.

Looking good there I know you like the Akebonos but I haven't had good luck with them. Did you decide what color you going on the Calipers? Also what are you doing with the Wheels??

I've only used akebonos on every snigle car i've owned and have never had an issue. I have heard some people experience issues but none for me as of yet. Going yellow and wheels still up in the air but going to test the wheels i have no in black and see hwo I like them. Since I have another set, I'm going to try 1 maybe in a black wrap and see if I'll like them black before I get them powdercoated.

Yeah I did get a lot of squeaking on both cars. Hopefully you don't. What kind of paste do you use on the back of your pads?
Yellow against black would look amazing!

Paint stripped on front and rear calipers and primer on. The paint peeled right off pretty easily. I didn't know what to expect.

Now drying and then I'll bake at 200 degrees and remove all of the tape, etc. I have brembo and amg logos but didn't apply either yet. I was going to apply before I did the clear coat but I'll do it after curing since I'm still debating on which one to go with.

Thanks. After I laid the 3rd coat of clear, the calipers started turning white..I read about not laying the clear too thick or that would happen

10 minutes later they were clear again.

Not bad for under $25.00 for these 3 cans and the duplicolor primer.

Yeah I have read that as well. Glad you got it fixed!
Dupli - Color is good stuff 👍

I am curious, were you due for pads and rotors or just wanted to switch to the new stuff?

Nope, not due for them. I just wanted to change to the bigger AMG set up, mainly for aesthetics.

Got ya! Definitely worth it! I am ok with my front but would love to replace my rears. Wondering if the rear AMG will work on my 4Matic 🤔

4matic had the issue of not being able to or having to get the Euro spec S600 rear calipers if I remember reading correctly.

Yeah I definitely have to do some reading and look into it. Even if I went with the S63 rear calipers or something...

Getting there. I think these same wheels in black might be a good option.

Those wheels in black would look good, but on your car I like them as they are. Especially with the yellow calipers, just enough pop of color. Car looks great.

Thank you. I'm going to do the caliper/rotor change this week or next and see how it looks with the silver wheels for a while. After putting the wheel over the set up, it does look good.

...and on. I'm happy with the results. A great aesthetic upgrade compared to oem. 100% bolt on using the oem bolts: calipers, rotors, pads, and sensors. I'll get full pics this weekend.
