Dtc code 2783 on a rebuilt transmission

As of many know on here I had my transmission rebuilt locally alittle over 3k miles ago and it came with a 12k miles or 1 year warranty. Needless to say I got an oil change and the person scanned my car and saw a transmission code. The car seems to be not shifting properly has it seems stuck in low gear. The code is 2783 wondering if anyone had this issue. I already contacted the transmission place and I am going tomorrow to have them scan it.

Hello,

I am dropping the car off on Tuesday they said that the torque converter is faulty. It’s under warranty so they will fix it.

Cool. Sounds like a pump issue so yeah, not a difficult fix. Not sure why they would have risked installing a potentially faulty tq converter after going to all the trouble to rebuild a 722.9 though...

Update.. so it seems that the torque converter was faulty. A brand new torque converter we was installed and the car is running great.

For sure. From my research and speaking to mercedes techs, I was told that these cars are really heavy and put a decent amount of stress on the transmission. I am just glad that it’s fixed. Now onto having my 2007 Porsche 911 turbo water pump and transmission serviced.

result - a UK Indy that specialises in Merc auto boxes says he's inundated with TC / 7g box failures he can't cope (like a switch just went off)
