So my third (Red) socket arrived. It seems to fit deeper onto the bolt heads with much less resistance than the other two. I will be using it tomorrow to remove my rear wheels for a deep cleaning. I will get pics of everything, including marring on the front bolt heads from the original (first) OEM Tools socket, as well as fitment of all three sockets on the bolt heads while I'm at it and before I take the other two to the UPS store to be returned to Amazon. Again, the red socket is the third, and the one indicated in WHPH28's post. I'm also going to go to Lowe's and get a 17mm spline drive socket to check fitment. I'll do that before I start the wheel cleaning and include pics of it as well.

Kevm...you might be lucky, but in the scheme of things don’t worry too much.

The issue relates to MB “improving “ the design of the bolts head to Flower. ( You know more surface more torque can be delivered to bolt thread, 100 lbs possible, DAs is guut).

And not dispersing proper tools to the entire tire/wheel community, including their own dealers in some cases.

Just another adventure for us.

I didn't move fast enough and this is out of stock. Great. Used my conventional thin wall hex again and while it gets stuck on many bolts it seemed to work fine as before...need a good flower socket though.

I swap wheels twice a year on my S class. Talking the flower head lugs off that much kills them fairly quickly. I went to standard 17 mm chrome lugs a year and a half ago and never looked back.
