The wheel is technically custom. I believe the supplier sources the parts separately then wraps the wheel and assembles. In theory its the same wheel that would come out of a W222 facelift AMG 63/65. I went with the leather wrapped porcelain wheel and airbag cover. The stitch work and color match is perfect.
How much was the module to make everything work and where did you get it from? Thanks.
I purchased it from a website called revocarbon. I communicated directly with the supplier. We text back and forth quite a bit. The wheel, pre wired retrofit module, and airbag (which is still on the way) was $1,500. This could change depending on the materials you choose.

Final update on the steering wheel retro fit. Received the airbag. Had to swap out the plastic airbag cover for the leather wrapped one. Pretty simple. Only thing that slightly confused me was the two airbag clips on the new bag didn’t match the ones in my car. The clips are removable so I took the ones from my old airbag and put them on the new one. Installed and everything works as advertised. Still need to clear my airbag code but that’s easy enough. Horn and steering wheel controls work. Only test left would be airbag functionality but let’s hope I never have to have it go off haha. Overall satisfied. One of the best mods that can be done on the W221 in my opinion.
Not to hijack or anything, but here's the final iteration, and it stuffed into the glovebox. Again, impressed how awake the factory drivers are now, and with plenty of headroom. I'd definitely recommend this if you're looking for a modest stereo upgrade.
So you never ended up replacing any of the speakers?
Sad update on my baby. Last weekend I was heading out on a road trip with my family from Scottsdale to San Diego. Was quite excited to take the four of us on a proper long drive in the S. Had spent the week prepping by doing brakes and rotors at all four corners, changed all the filters (air and cabin air), oil change, and did the spark plugs. Headed out at about 4 am to get the day started early. About 40 min into our trip we start to head west on Route 238 in AZ. Two lanes, one going each direction. Behind a semi truck and visibility is non existent. We were maintaining a good distance from the semi but we did not see the massive pothole that lay ahead on the left side of the lane. The ******* took out both of my driver's side wheels and tires. Luckily the car stayed in complete control and we were able to pull of the road safely. Needless to say my baby is going to be out of commission for quite some time...
Having it repaired through insurance. Filed claim against the state for damages to my vehicle on their unkempt roads, but we'll see if I get anywhere with that. The adjuster already ok'd the repairs. Two wheels, two tires, and a damaged lower control arm bushing. Parts are ideally arriving this week. I've had a variety of loaner cars so far, mainly GLC's and E Classes. It's a first world problem but I just really want my car back.
Update, but not about my sedan. I recently picked up a second car as somewhat of a project. The M275 V12 has always intrigued me and I came across a car I couldn't pass on. 2007 Cl600, 65k miles. The car needs some work but I got the car for $13k. It had some really bad electrical issues and jello motor mounts at purchase. New batteries fixed the electrical issues. My mounts just arrived, and I have a set of wheels that need tires that will look amazing on this car. Let me know if anyone is interested in a "fixer up" thread but either way, check her out!
Joe,Sorry to hijack your thread again but I finally was able to put on the new steering wheel. It looks amazing! Yours is definitely sexier but I decided to stay close to the original...Pics not coming through...

I don’t mind at all. It’s pretty much dead anyway. Happy it turned out the way you wanted!
I would love to look at the data card and discover what wood trim option your car has! It is stunning and yet I have never seen it in any W221 brochure.

Sorry for the delay. Got lost in translation. I'm currently stuck on my couch and don't want to dig up the VIN haha, but I l've looked into it before. It's "Designo Champagne Piano Lacquer." Really is a stunning interior. Being a piano lacquer finish it hid blemishes so much better than piano black.
So I guess this is a wrap to my post. I recently sold the old girl. Gotta say I miss it already. Definitely top three cars I've owned. Was very happy to get what I did for it and I believe the next owner will treat it as well as I did. Currently daily driving my CL600 and I have the say, 600's are on a different level. Cost aside, the V12/ABC combination is incredible and the starter noise never gets old. To be honest I don't like the color combination nearly as much as the S550 but I couldn't pass on what I paid for it. It just eats highway like no other car can and the power is truly effortless. So far I've done the trans mount, trunk battery, a new set of wheels and tires, the leaky ABC tandem pump, and the radiator. Those last two were a *****. In terms of mods, I've upgraded the projectors in the headlights and added an Apple CarPlay module. Currently has a coolant leak from passenger side turbo line. Its a $5 o-ring, but requires subframe removal. A buddy of mine basically has a full shop in his garage so I'll be doing that in the next month or so along with engine mounts and some worn bushings. Car still scares the hell out of me in terms of ownership cost so I will likely sell it after. Would be looking to move into a 2015-17 W222 with another Designo interior, so if anyone has a beat on one let me know! Here are some updated photos of the CL:
This is tangentially related (didn't seem worthy of a new thread), but I've been thinking about making some interior change colors...curious if others think this would look dumb, or an interesting contrast. I've got a black on black 2008 CL550. I'm thinking about putting on tan door panels on the front and rear (tan panels are a mixture of black and tan--see links below. Designo tan is also available used. Would cost $1000 for me to get the parts and do it myself. Dumb idea, or look neat?
Nat_h: I have the Designo option on my Sclass with brown and black panels. I think they would look nice , I’m very happy with the quality of leather seats arm rest and door panels I have black alcantera fabric roof liner too. Keep us posted on your progress,
