Asking for opinions

Just purchased a 2013 S550 to replace the A8 4.0 that was totaled. Blown away by the car. One thing is not working however. I searched every post to match my problem but couldn't find what I was looking for. All driver assist (radar pre safe lane assist distance etc are working perfectly but when I try to engage cruise I'm getting Distronic inoperable. I would think if it were battery related other systems would malfunction. Car hasn't been wrecked and she's clean as a whistle. Any ideas for what I'm dealing with or possible fix. I do a lot of highway and definitely need the cruise. Weather's been sunny and 70 so not rain or snow.

All I got when the next morning when she arrived at 3:00AM. And before the detail. My code reader I had for the XK won't read those diagnostics. Haven't purchased a good one yet. Sadly I'm no mechanic. I'm just trying to gauge what the problem could be. I would think if it was aux battery related I'd have other faults. Or if the radar on the grill distance meter would be inoperable, which it isn't until I try to engage Distronic. And I can't stand the local dealer - had my wife's E350 convertible for three months to replace some hydraulics on the top.

Looks clean. I would DC battery for a few, then reconnect. Get iCarsoft MBII or Foxwell NT510. Service department is where they make all their money.

Nice house.

Agree whole heartedly. It will be removed post haste. I've had 43 cars and this one takes the cake. I thought my GL was incredibly smooth , but this is next level. The Audi was stupid fast and had a gorgeous interior, but rather mundane comparatively speaking. Thank you for your replies.

65k. Interior presents new with the exception of the armrest stretching. Going to try the heat gun and cold towel on that. When I pop the hood the lever doesn't come out. No time to address that as of yet. Car had a good history, whisper quiet, no accidents, probably over paid but missed a 2012 CL550 due to trying to save a few bucks.

this is what I got. Any info greatly appreciated. Figured that wheel speed sensor could be the culprit. Cleared the codes but still inoperable.

Time for ABS sensors. I bet all three codes tie into the faulty sensor. I would try disconnecting and reconnecting the sensor just for fun. Or don't even bother and just get a new pair of front sensors.

The last is an IMU, the thing that provides data for ESP, Dynamic seats, and all kinds of other stuff. Should the wheel sensors not be the sole contributor to the fault condition, those are pretty cheap too

Update - had the two front ABS/speed control sensors replaced. It did not fix the distronic cruise inoperable. My local shop (trustworthy but not MB specialistand limited in scope) had several low voltage codes to front radar sensors and a couple of others. (CANBUS related codes) I know the AUX battery was replaced 1.5 years and my distance readout and presafe, blind spot, parktronic all work flawlessly. Any additional thoughts of what may be causing this? Really appreciate the help.

Front radome? Check connections? Distance functioning properly is curious (as it relates to sensors), but I'm pretty sure presafe, blind spot and parktronic all use the smaller, ultrasonic sensors in the bumpers.

It is curious. If I start with distance readout it works perfect. But, if I try Distronic and get the error, distance readout becomes inoperable. All the low voltage codes has me stumped. Car fires right up - wonder if voltage regulator could be acting up. 1000 mile trip this weekend without cruise.....I could see a speeding ticket.

this looks like a job for a dedicated MB mechanic.

Low voltage signal stuff's definitely a job for Xentry. CAN and LIN can start to get very confusing. With PC's, it's always a software issue. With cars with a bunch of PC's, you really just need the right tools. Just as much engineering went into the car's diagnostic systems as the car itself.
