Oh boy the joy of owning this car
Hello all,
I recently replaced my fuel filter and fuel pump both oem parts just for preventive maintenance as I am driving down to Florida and wanted to make sure the car was good to go. I noticed that prior to changing these parts that I was having a hard time starting the car. I already had the starter, starter, and rear battery replaced with in the last couple of months. With that said it weird cause the car wants to start but for some reason the car seems to not be getting any fuel to the engine. I checked all the relays and fuel. There absolutely no codes there come up on the star.
randomly today it took a bit to start but when it finally did it ran fine. Then while driving it down a street about 25 mph I noticed the car just stalled. I turned the key off/on the car and it started up.. I am lost. Could it be the crankshaft position sensor? I read that they don’t usually give you codes. Any help would be great.

Totally random guess: check fuel pump relay. For CPS, you could diagnose a no-start by reading engine RPM on a scantool during crank. A nonsensical value would suggest CPS.

I checked the relay of the fuel pump. I actually hear what I think is the relay clicking when I turn the key in the ignition. I see there is only 2 fuses on the rear fuse panel for the fuel pump. Also I swapped out the fuel relay a few times with new ones and still no change. Would the cps give any indication? I was also suggested to check and see if the front is getting fuel to the fuel rails. Recently I noticed that it’s taking long time to start the car.

You need to isolate to fuel starvation or spark (i.e. CPS or other). So check fuel pressure during no-start. You may need to inspect the wiring/plug at the fuel pump.

I am thinking it has to do with the fuel filter. When I recently replaced it I noticed corrosion on the plug. I cleaned it with electric contact cleaner. When I was having the starting problem I would unplug the fuel filter plug and reattach it the car would start sometimes .. I have now changed the pump fuel 3 times so I know it’s now that. Is the fuel filter also pump?

So I narrowed it down to 3 possibly parts. Though two of them are brand fuel pump and fuel filter. With that said on the fuel filter there are 3 hoses attached to it. The middle hose can’t be put on the wrong nipple but the others could be placed on the wrong nipple. I believe that could be one of the issues or I have a faulty fuel pressure sensor. As of now I have no fuel making its way to the engine as I checked the
