I've got 19 inch AMG 5 spoke wheels on my car--2008 CL550, cross posted here because so little activity on the CL forum). I know these are considered a desirable option, but to me they are the least interesting of any of the factory wheels. There are very few (almost no) good condition other wheels I can find on Ebay or elsewhere, especially as a set. Does anyone know if I can expand my search to other MB OEM wheels, with some modifications such as spacers, without causing trouble? I've looked at the calculators online, but don't know enough about wheels to know what trouble other models might cause, even if they technically fit. BTW, I'd be interested in trading if anyone wants AMG wheels and has a good set of something else.

road wheels are actually far more complex than many think - the face of the hub in relation to the centre point of the tyre is critical to clearing suspension arms, good steering feel and the vehicles ride and handling
in Merc land they give all the detail of suitable wheels in the handbook - as its a heavy powerful tank the strength of the wheel is also key

as for desirable I have a cracked 18 inch one and the 19s are worse, a mates has 4 oval 19" ones on his car ....
in my manual (but always check yours as they may have changed stuff on a later model year)
