Passenger side headlight bulb replacement EASY FIX FROM THE TOP
Can this be replaced from the top? I saw a youtube video showing it could be done, but the video quality was poor. It would be nice to do it from the top without having to remove the fender liner.
Has anyone on this forum been able to do this?

I know which video you are referring to, and I have no idea how he did that. You'll like end up breaking the bulb or who knows what else, even if you are able to contort your hand into the slot. It really isn't bad to remove the liner...so much easier.

A month later and I finally got to the job, and it was crazy easy and only took 10-15 minutes to replace the passenger low beam! All you have to do is remove the coolant expansion tank which is held on by one 10 mm bolt. Just remove that bolt and disconnect the electrical connecter, then wiggle it out from the two grommets it sits in beneath (it did take some serious wiggling), then set aside. Unscrew the round cover, set aside. The bulb is held in by two clips, so just push those towards the center and let them spring away from the light. Disconnect the bulb from its electrical connecter, it pulls right out. The bulb does not have to be turned to fix into place. the two clips hold it in.
As they say, installation is the reverse of the removal. FWIW, this was on a 2008 S550 4MATIC.
