Brembo Caliper and Pads

I have recently purchased a 2009 S550 4matic that has brembo calipers up front. It did not come with the tool to take the wheels bolts so can't pull the wheels to check the pad but the rotors and pads def need changing. The car also sounds like a 89 f150 going over the slightest bumps in the road and turning making a loud annoying squeak.
I am not sure if I need to replace all the control arms and stuff or if it's the air struts making the noise. I am trying to go ahead and order all the parts. I have a few days before the tool comes in. New to MB and everything is so different. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

How many miles on the car?

I changed out the lower control arms on my 2007 S600 at about 60K miles. First the left at 55K miles and then the right at 67K miles. Symptoms were the clunk over speed bumps and the mild shimmy at 60 mph. After new control arms, steady as a rock. I changed front and rear pads at 55K miles also mostly to reduce dust on my wheels. I swapped to Hawk pads yellow ceramic. OEM pads are softer and produce more dust on the wheels. Just changed rotors and pads again now at 87K miles and pads were in good shape but new rotors like new pads and they were not expensive. Maintain the car. You will be much happier even though parts are expensive. There is at least one vendor offering life-time warranty on OEM parts.

In my opinion, the S Class Mercedes when well maintained is the finest motorcar in the World.

S550
My issue is that I am not sure if these Brembos came on the S550 or if someone converted them before I bought it. Ice owned the car for a few weeks now. I love the car but I hate the clunking noise and the squeaky brakes. It takes away from the luxury appeal. They are dual pin 4 piston brembo calipers. I just need to order new pads and want to make sure I order the correct pads and rotors. How hard was it replacing the control arms? I'm fairly handy working on cars but this is my first German vehicle. The car has around 120K miles.

I have Brembo 4 pots on my S600 with slotted and drilled rotors. I think it came that way from Germany.

I have been told the control arms are not hard to replace. I had the dealer do it because I had an extended warranty which is now out of date. The warranty would only pay for half of an alignment since they only replaced one control arm. How do you do a half of an alignment???? And of course, it was not long before I needed that other control arm replaced and the warranty covered only the part and labor and not the alignment. Stupid warranty rules.

You will definitely be happier with the car after these repairs. Good luck and keep us posted.

Replacing the control arms is not bad. My car is actually at the dealer now having that done. I would have done it myself, except I have a warranty so am letting them do it. There are numerous YouTube videos showing how to do it.
