no electrical power, no nothing??

2009 s550 4 matic
no electrical power, no nothing??
hey...looking for some help, I've read several threads about similar issues, but I will admit I am confused. here's the history and current situation for my 2009 S550 4matic
  • auxilary battery light came on and I replaced auxiliary battery located under drivers side dashboard about 3 years ago and all was good
  • 3 months ago I replaced the main battery located in the engine compartment and all was good no issues, car started and drove fine
  • let car sit for approximately the last month and went to start it and nothing, no lights, no clicks, no nothing...not sure why the battery would drain that fast as I have other vehicles that have sat longer than that with no issues
  • I assumed main large battery was dead for so disconnected battery from the car and charged it using a slow charge and when the charger said it was done I reconnected and still nothing
so I'm thinking that the auxiliary battery also was drained while the car sat, but I am not sure if that would create the no power issue

any suggestions on...
  • should I remove and charge the auxiliary?
  • is there somewhere else I should be looking?
  • and last but not least any thoughts on why the main battery drained in the first place?

Could be a failed starter. Mine went bad and behaved similarly..

Check the voltage on the main battery and work from there. If you have a diagnostic system, see if you have issues with your alternator.

just want to close this out by letting the group know that I took the battery back and they gave me a new one and the car started right up. Thanks for the help!!
