Bluetooth phone callers can't hear me

All of a sudden callers can't hear me. Restarted phone. Tried another phone I've never used before. Same problem. So I guess it's the car. Is there a process to reset everything? Or is there another known tip/trick for this? Hopefully it's not hardware failure. I guess I could try the voice command thing to see if it can hear me since I assume that uses the same mic. That would at least rule out a mic issue.

For the same issue, I had to replace the Voice Command Modue although yours might be different.

what system do you think you have that should do BT phone calls?

An optional extra on NTG3.0 cars, gave built in bluetooth, but it was NEVER able to function for mobile phone handsets to make calls - you can connect, you can get a call, you can answer, you can't hear them - but they can hear you. The strange system wasn't built for that - it was only to allow a BT hand set in the rear arm rest to work via the handset in the front plugged in the UHI

Plugging either a Merc puck or Viseeo device to the UHI can get BT calls that work normally

USA cars use a different set up to europe

So.....I took the car for lunch and made a test phone call. It worked. So apparently I hadn't considered "reboot vehicle." I'm willing to deal with an occasional fluke as long as it is rare. This has happened before but switching the phone to speaker and back to BT or retrying the call typically works. This was the first time none of that worked. I'd still like to blame my crappy Android phone, also. Who knows.

BOTUS: Yeah I'm not talking about the weird NTG3.0 bluetooth. I am talking about the device, whatever it's called. It's either factory or a factory accessory. It's the one I am sure all pre-facelift W221s have in the top level of their center console in the US.

This provides a calls received and dialed log as well as bars of reception in the top right of the COMAND screen.

the whole set up is mad - the other day I got a call whilst the car was being worked on in a garage - I took it on the phone, then wandered outside the BT range and the car couldn't get over it

it felt I was still in a call (when I'd hung up), and nothing would allow the call to be closed down - key out locked it, still in a call and the comand wouldn't shutdown, pocked and pressed everything, went home, put diagnostics on the car, couldn't get anywhere - I even made another call and it still felt it was in the original one - I was considering taking the battery off... when I thought lets just unplug that stupid gadget from the UHI and all was good !!!!!

Not alone

This is why I love forums and appreciate you guys!
I’ve owned my 07 W221 for just about three months. I don’t take anything for granted with this car, yet, when the phone connection would act weird, I chalk it up to old meeting new. Though I miss car play from my other cars, I appreciate what this car offered when new and it’s relevance today.
