Bluetooth phone callers can't hear me

An optional extra on NTG3.0 cars, gave built in bluetooth, but it was NEVER able to function for mobile phone handsets to make calls - you can connect, you can get a call, you can answer, you can't hear them - but they can hear you. The strange system wasn't built for that - it was only to allow a BT hand set in the rear arm rest to work via the handset in the front plugged in the UHI
Plugging either a Merc puck or Viseeo device to the UHI can get BT calls that work normally
USA cars use a different set up to europe

BOTUS: Yeah I'm not talking about the weird NTG3.0 bluetooth. I am talking about the device, whatever it's called. It's either factory or a factory accessory. It's the one I am sure all pre-facelift W221s have in the top level of their center console in the US.
This provides a calls received and dialed log as well as bars of reception in the top right of the COMAND screen.
it felt I was still in a call (when I'd hung up), and nothing would allow the call to be closed down - key out locked it, still in a call and the comand wouldn't shutdown, pocked and pressed everything, went home, put diagnostics on the car, couldn't get anywhere - I even made another call and it still felt it was in the original one - I was considering taking the battery off... when I thought lets just unplug that stupid gadget from the UHI and all was good !!!!!
I’ve owned my 07 W221 for just about three months. I don’t take anything for granted with this car, yet, when the phone connection would act weird, I chalk it up to old meeting new. Though I miss car play from my other cars, I appreciate what this car offered when new and it’s relevance today.
