Airmatic malfunction?

Airmatic malfunction?
Just got this car so this is a little tragic lol
Malfunction light comes on (up arrow in car).
This only happens with the front wheels.
Yesterday it dropped to 0 while parked and when I started the engine got "STOP - car too low"
Turned off and left it for like 20 minutes, came back and started again. This time it rose back up and drove the rest of the day normally.
Today I have noticed the malfunction again and it seems to be riding lower than normal sometimes.
I have also noticed that pressing the button next to the odometer does nothing, and the button itself doesn't light up.
Are there any simple checks I can do at home before going to a shop? Seller told me the equipment is less than a few months old + they're Arnott. Wondering if it could be an electric thing. Is it possible to reset the whole system?

just above the top of each front wheel is a similar connecting rod as the picture in this thread - the plastic ball sockets weld themselves to the mild steel ***** with enough force to support a few skyscrapers for breakfast - so the bracket snaps off in the end, beaching the car - before that happens they throw odd behaviours
likely been in that state for months / years and so things get worn, the air bags will fail - but it was the w220 that killed them in just 6 years - the w221 air bags should do 100k and 15 years no issues
