W221 Logic7 amp problems and amp replacement
Hi guys,
I'm having problems similar to what's described here: https://www.youcanic.com/mercedes-be...fier-problems/
Basically when the sound system works; the audio cuts out every minute or so for a few seconds. Sometimes when I start the car there's a lot of hiss and crackling sounds - even when the system should be silent.
Often turning the audio on/off does not work the first time.
I'm using an Android headunit that works great, but for a few months now the amp seems to be playing up.
So far, I've disassembled the logic7 amp unit and cleaned it. It seems fine, no broken lines or puffed caps. No moisture, looks brand new. But still the problem persists. I've bought a few MOST loop adapters but my Japanese S 550 doesn't seem to have anything connected other than the Command and Logic7.
So here's my question:
Is there a way to completely replace the Logic7 amp for an aftermarket unit while maintaining the volume controls in the center dash and steering wheel? I have a brand new Focal amp just sitting there, would prefer to use it if possible. I can DSP it fine with equipment I have.
I don't think the Android unit can pick up the CAM signals for volume in the dash or steering wheel.... Have you guys tried hacking it further?
Or fixing/buying a new overpriced Logic7 is my only option?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

These guys made the head unit. Maybe they can help. Every time I called, I got someone on the phone.
