W221 s350L instrument cluster cruise control&limit bar bar is not normal and I don't
Hi, my w221 s350L model vehicle's speed stabilization and limiting bar has decreased from 260km/h to 240km/. and I don't know why. Could my vehicle have protected itself for any reason? Can someone with knowledge let me know? And can you suggest a solution?
....strange - there are hidden menus you find with xentry diagnostics kit (in german) to play with lots of stuff like speed limiters... and what range the dial reaches
I don't believe it can change itself - so I expect someone has been playing and either set it back to std for the region u r in or fiddled with something they shouldn't have - the menus along the bottom are not english - so it is, or was based somewhere else ?
First of all thank you for replying. Yes, the language is different and Turkish. my car lit the engine light once and that's how it happened. I had to replace the air flow meter because it was faulty. Then I reset the warning lights with the diagnostic kit. but this bar remained like that. do you know how i can fix it?
I'd start with, is the car genuine Turkish market spec car - then is there any silly laws about speeding and governed max speeds in your country (and if not, then some local market the car was homologated for probably did...)
if so I suspect someone had a play and tried to turn it off but used hooky tools that did a half hearted job - and either a recent battery disconnect, major wobble, module was temporarily disconnected, AND or nasty fake diagnostic tool has mildly muddled its brain / reset to standard
years back using "genuine dealer tools" an "expert" made changes on mine, that never happened - on the way home miles from his garage I remembered he didn't reboot the KI cluster like you must - I rang and he assured me he did - then 6 months on when fitting a new battery the feature he coded came to life.... after the car woke up seeing the real world he'd configured it for 6 months prior !!!!!
and as I have never used the pointless feature - I don't know what the cluster might show ..... have you fiddled with the end of the cruise control stalk and enabled the most pointless feature ever fitted on any car - and set the max speed it will accelerate too, to 240
Thank you for the information you gave. I have never played with the cruise control lever. I will reset the settings of my vehicle with a professional diagnostic control. hopefully my problem will be fixed.
