Mercedes command issues

amp, command unit both tested by Becker autosound and they are fine. Did the fiber optic loop for each module involved with the audio system.. no difference.

just an fyi of what I tried so far. I checked all the fuses associated with the command system and relays. They are all good.. I even went ahead changed the command display screen. The command display, command itself, and the middle console buttons which turn on/off do not work. I truly believe that the issue is the video outputs from the command unit. I am totally confused. The Mercedes star computer doesn’t see the amp, screen, or anything with the audio system being connected even though it’s physically connected. The only thing I am not 100% sure is if there is a relay connected to the command system.

this is taking too long and ur in circles and confusion - not great place to dwell

can you get a hold of known to be working comand unit and an amp and see it that helps I wouldn't expect (or assume) any repaired item to be trust worthy for testing.... In 9 years I can recollect one owner who claims he was repaired successfully and of 5 people I know and trust that gave up with repairs because it never works - and of a comand / merc retrofit upgrade specialist that has 6 dead ones he has never even thought of trying to get repaired

FYI comand is one M its an acronym...

Ok, so I did as you suggested and borrowed my friend’s working command and amp from his 08 w221.. guess what. The display still doesn’t turn on and either does the command unit light up or work.. so something is going on with the power supply to the command unit.

Update.. so the amp and command are all good. It ended up being a fuse on the left side of the dashboard. Thank you for your help. Car is still running at 189k miles.

lol y/n.. I ended up buying replacement parts in the M.O.S.T system with new part numbers witg update software. The good thing is most of the parts were decently cheap/
