Driver side cylinder misfire

Apparently I'm just playing a game of around the world. Where are my frequent flier miles lol. For those who don't know I have a 2009 s600 and now my driver side cylinders are misfiring. Everytime I start the car it runs fine and I can even rev it just fine. But after I put it in drive and start going above a certain speed. Those cylinders will misfire. I can turn it off and start it up and every time it will start just fine. But in drive and moving those cylinders will misfire.

Classic coil pack failure. Replace coil pack with OEM or Clark's product. Caution on ebay Chinese parts.

Shop around for another diagnosis but after that you should replace that coil pack. These cars were made for rich people that didn't care about a $3500 dealer "tune up" requiring two coil packs and a VT and spark plugs every 50K-75K miles. Why not start with a clean tune up? If money is the issue, get used to being broke. It is a V12. They all have very special personalities.

And after that, be sure to replace the lower control arms that carry all the heavy weight of the car. Symptoms are a shimmy in the front end at about 65 mph. Ask me how I know.....

I think this is a clue for all if you have a V12 - never put a coil pack on it until you have replaced the VT with a brand new orig - or better still a grown up one with built in protection for the coil packs

yep the back seat passengers of v12s started it once, sat in the back twice, then traded up - so that was as long as the ignition system needed to last

Very special personalities indeed! My 221 car had brand new coil packs and VT when I purchased it. Nickel in a bet says this was the final straw for the PO’ed Previous Owner.
Front suspension arms in my 221 S65 always announced it was time by squeaking obnoxiously over any bump or turn of the steering wheel. Got to do a few sets of them.
My 221 S65 was ready for another round of coil packs and VT when I fixed it with the 222 car. I put 75,000 or so miles on that car. Lots of tires, brakes, an engine, voice control module and other assorted sundries. Many many good memories made in that car.

it's like what Jay Leno always says "when they work, it's unbelievable. When they don't work, ITS UNBELIEVABLE." I'm just going to take it to my Mercedes dealer and have them fix everything. Luckily, the only good thing last me did was get the extended warranty whenever I got this car so almost none of the work will come out of my pocket. There's a lot of other things that need done anyway.

Extended warranty covered me for about $11K in repairs over the four or so years I have had the car. Well worth the $5600 cost in 2019.

A well maintained S class is the finest motorcar in the World.
