Parking Guidance Currently Unavailable
Hello, with the extra hot weather my 2009 S600 has been alarming for: Parking Guidance Currently Unavailable See Ops. Manual.
It alarms intermittently maybe 25% frequency on hot days. The Park Assist button on the dash turns red, like when I disable it to park tight in garage.
When I roll faster than 10 mph, the light and error message clear.
Getting no error codes or check engine light.
Has anyone seen this issue how to troubleshoot?

are you sure its parking guidance ? do you ONLY get it when other vehicles are around ?
if its with other road users do you have the radar with active cruise control ?.... or maybe blind spot assist ? this runs on old technology and now every other car and its dog is throwing radar noise out - it makes it hard work for older cars to understand what's legit and whats garbage - so they go safe and disable stuff - and as it was expected to be a rare event, it even stores all this detritus in diagnostics...

Johnny, I think you have ParkAssist, which is radar sensing. As Botus said, you’ll get interference from other cars... And, I haven't done any statistical analysis, but 25% of the time- when below 9 mph- is about right for “ParkAssist Inoperable” warning to go off.
All ParkAssist owners are similarly annoyed by this "Your car is about to Explode!" warning. It's gotten worse over the years as more and more manufacturers are using radar.

sadly yes, later cars moved frequency - I'm a little excited about some stuff from autel - how are so in to ADAS stuff they now do their own radar as replacement parts - I'm thinking it wouldn't take much to produce a radar that does the same thing but beams out modern signals
