No Power
a) early cars had a small battery under the bonnet it started the car - later models this is a much bigger battery, with functions closer to those of a normal car
b) then on early cars they got a second massive hidden battery in the boot that does most of the other functions
c) later models also got a small battery merc stupidly call an Aux battery (muddling their own naming conventions with two other distinctly different features they also refer to by the Aux naming). These under the dashboard Aux batteries helps with control of the gear selection when other's are flat. Other later other models use it to control the logic of the engine start stop. Or on older SBC cars, its a back up for the brake booster.
if you change a battery in any multi battery car you must assume cables or parts of the car remain live - thus additional caution should be used.
None of the batteries do anything odd - if charged and fitted correctly they just work - If the faults are directly after fitting a battery - one can assume something went wrong, a cable shorted and or polarity was wrong - the risk of damage to a pre-fuse box or worse is high
