Brake Pads and Rotors

I will be replacing my pads and rotors in the next couple of weeks. I will most likely be using Zimmermann rotors and Jurid pads. The other option for rotors were ATE. What are your thoughts on these products? Should I use Zimmermann or ATE rotors? Should I use Jurid pads? If anyone has experience with these, please let me know what you think of them. If you have other recommendation on products, please let me know as well.

Thanks

I used Pagid for the rotors...a lot less expensive, and no problems. I used Bosch Quietcast brakes all around, and all four were squealing a few months later. I removed them, and all were cracked, and went in the trash. Won't be using Bosch brakes again.

And I went with Brembo rotor disks and Hawk pads (ceramic low dust). Very happy with the results. Worth spending a few dollars more.

I would personally go with the ATE's vs Zimmermann. ATE's are OE and the Zimmermann's are aftermarket. Also have had issues with the Zimmermann's warping on my 5series.

I use www.brakeperformance.com rotors and their performance ceramic pads. They sell a drilled and slotted rotor or an OE type standard rotor. The rotors are around $175 front or back US dollars

I used a Power Stop Z23 Coated Evolution kit for all 4 corners. Amazing braking out of this setup and no dust. I've definitely put it through its paces in Northern AZ without the slightest hint of squeal or fade. Some spirited driving to be had there. The only tiny complaint is the quick chirp I get backing out of my driveway in the morning. I've heard that's a very common issue for carbon-fiber ceramic when they're cold. It only lasts for the first stop down the driveway in the morning. I've never heard it any other time.

I’ve used that brand on my Suburban, and I had the same issue with the “chirp/squeal” in reverse at start up in the morning. Otherwise, great product!

I like Zimmermann simply because I believe they are actual original equipment.

I can recall when original rotors began appearing with the gray coating, and it's the same coating Zimmermann calls Coat-Z

Also, Sinsheim where Zimmermann is located is a really short distance from Stuttgart. When I did the MBCA Germany Tour in 2006 we bussed there from Stuttgart to tour the Transportation Museum.

I have only rare beliefs that aftermarket is better than original equipment. I do understand channels of distribution and can understand the Mercedes channel isn't the cheapest.

Depends on the weather
Brembo rotors and Akebono pads. Works well for me, super low dust.

Zimmermann is not original equipment. ATE on the other hand is.
