Hi everyone, S550 2009. Third brake light error in the dashboard. The third brake light goes on for a few seconds then off. Then error message appears. I checked the 17/1 ground, cleaned it and it was already fine. I could not find rear sam module in my trunk. I suspect a bad relay but I don’t know where it is. Fuse and relay box in rear center arm rest Right side trunk
Please help.
your top photo shows the SRB with the white part number sticker 221 900 3001 (this is all the relays and fuses - accessed via the rear seat arm rest area) and the rear SAM that clips vertically to it is sitting behind the aluminum bit
its probably failure of the light unit - the SRB and relays are quite durable
if you want to break things and get the SAM out, the black metal H frame has to come out - try not to cut the loom in half at the back of the boot when you refit it ....
