The check engine light came back on again and the car is running great, so I ran a bottle of Chevron Techron in the tank twice with about a few hundred miles between tanks and the damn car runs like its brand new now. Light never came back on.

Techron is a very good product. Normally, bottled products are made of hopeium and simply never work. Techron in my Mercedes keeps that silly CEL off.

Every other month on the first of the month. Buy a case of 6 20 oz. plastic bottles online. If you had asked me about bottled products, I would have cried snake oil. But my S600 V12, now freshly tuned with new ignition components all around and no CELs right now, still loves a bottle every other month.

Highly recommend.

I see on ChevronLubricants.com theres also a Techron High Mileage 12 ounce that treats up to 21 gallons recommended every 1000 miles on cars above 75,000 miles. $13 bucks ain't bad, I was buying the large Techron bottle at a Chevron station for about $19. Think I'll try the High Mileage version every 1000 miles. I drive a 2013 S550, it seems to have the same horsepower as the older S600 V12.

Never used the smaller size. Would be eager to hear how it works in your engine. Not sure how to compare the two products if labels are the same ingredients.

The other stuff I use in a can is LiquidMoly (MoS2) at every oil change. Once again, I scoffed at snake-oil but after one can in the engine; my very smooth engine was incredibly quieter. You cannot even tell the engine is running at idle.

Keep us posted on the high mile mini-Techron.

both 2097 and 2099 say

Once the PCM (power train control module - AKA engine management ECU) enters closed loop operation (where the amount going in is controlled via the readings of the CAT sensors), if the bank 1 or 2 downstream O2 sensor circuit input readings reflect too few oxygen molecules in the exhaust (aka its running too rich), a P2097 or P2099 code will be stored and a malfunction indicator lamp may be illuminated.
