Loss of all audio on 2012 S350
I was travelling with my radio muted when there was a extremely loud banging and popping from the speakers and when it stopped after about 30seconds I had lost all audio and when I selected any of the options ie disc radio telephone memory cards etc nothing was recognised or the message device not available so has anyone expierenced this problem

the exact symptoms sound dramatic - But... an Amp failing could achieve much of the noises - and the W221 Amp isn't just and Amp, on this model its an integral part of a lot of individual components that make up the entertainment system....
The Amp is very well known for dying leaving no noise anywhere with No station names or frequency numbers displaying on the FM radio screen.... if its all gone off, that could be any module on the MOST fiber loop playing up - of which the Amp is also one, but this must be there functioning - whereas common modules that die on the MOST fibre loop seem to be Lingautronic or Sirius modules (for Euro / Oz markets exchange Sirius with the DAB radio module) - those last two and the TV module (if fitted) can be looped out with special loop connectors to see if it comes back to life....
secondhand modules can be fitted as plug and play (except Sirius, who's license needs registering)
you should try SEARCH
