keyless door locks
2008 S550 4 matic: My driver door does not respond to my touch for unlock or lock. It worked well since I bought the car last year but recently became sporadic and now, not at all. All the other door locks work. I thought it might be the FDOB battery, but changing it had no affect. Is this a "take-apart-the-whole-door" ordeal to replace a sensor? Or is there a simple fix?

It's almost certainly the door handle, a VERY common issue on keyless go Mercedes from this era. The job is super easy and should only take maybe 1-1.5 hrs if it's your first time.
Go online and find a door handle for your car that's the same paint color (unless you like a beater look lol)

2011 E63 AMG, 2007 S550 AMG
I had the same problem with my ‘07 S550. I ended up swapping the driver side front and rear door handles since I wasn’t able to find a door handle easily. The swap was easy and took about 30 minutes total.
