Cornering light substitution
Cornering light substitution fog lights (setting selected I guess means use fog lights when the corner light fails)
Re-trigger time of headlight activation (this didn't translate well - its got to be related to curve light feature... not sure what - I always muddle steering wheel switched extra bulbs for added comfort - with wobble the std headlamp beams about the road to pretend to see round corners
Replacement light function active (acktiv = enabled. As in car in this config is set to use the substitution feature)
Mercs using canbus fun can illuminate other bulbs as a stand in for a failed bulb... (aka substitution) I expect chopping and bodging looms will throw this in a tail spin and this might drive your canbus error messages
coding - I never got a proper tutorial on that "proper coding". If you have exact instructions could you please share in pm or here?
cgw flash to facelift flash - As I know CGW is only used for a moment when you code XALWA. Is there any other reason to keep it? Taking in consideration some other functions like invisible parking radars will not function?
light switch - do you know what exactly facelift light switch fix/activate when installing it along with new sam, etc?
In general I don't like the option of facelift SAM cause you can code some functions, have light and some of ILS functions work but you also have numerous issues with other car modules. Just an example is a strobing relay in rear SAM when you on low battery. Or incorrect battery management/charging. And dozens of other things you will never know until you face it during the exploitation.
That is why I currently prefer my current setup: Original 2008 SAM + special CAN module (made in Ukraine but discontinued due to car age). I have all lights work including ALL advanced ILS functions except intelligent high beam as it requires another camera in windshield. The only one issue is DRL - when activated it only works on full power and only along with marker lights and headlight. But it's almost ok cause I have all other modules on car operate correctly. I thinking about (when I have time - most likely on summer) doing another module on Arduino dedicated to DRL - it's really ease to code it and have DRL work as designed on newer cars.

@BOTUS or anyone else who have facelift model. Need your help to determine correct behaviour of advanced fog light.When I activate the Advanced Fog Light on the switch, the so-called "hills" on the lighting line of LEFT HEADLIHT are removed (the line becomes straight, without rises), and the beam shifts to the left, moving further away from the center toward the side. The RIGHT HEADLIHT is not engaged at all and remains with the "hills."
When I activate the Advanced Fog Light through DAS in the XALWA activations, the "hills" are removed on BOTH headlights, and the lighting line becomes completely flat. However, the beams do not turn to the side and continue to shine in the same direction as before.
How does this actually work on real-life facelifted vehicles?
I have had a play with a facelift CGW (still running facelift SW) in my older car - whilst it told me I need to flash backwards to old SW - that would be to return to a later than factory iteration I already have on the Car and that was updated and SCN coded in 2019 - but when you play on the later facelift SW the lines of code to enable disable features in the software is quite different with a number of options both extras and some missing... And whilst it starts and drives and even has Distronic plus working - I could never get TPMS to operate at all, and nor could I get the hidden radar parking sensors to behave... so I went back to my original and only keep the later one in case of a total failure

If you go into EPC and knock out the Vehicle specific VIN and use the generic 221.071(swb)/221.171(lwb) this will give you ALL the parts available across the whole production rather than grading our anything not originally fitted.
The two sections you particularly need re front lights are:
54, Electrical equipment. Sub chapter 545.
82, Electrical Systems, Sub chapter 175.
You also need the following information:
The option codes for your car As Built.
The option codes for what you are trying to achieve.
The complete VIN respective to any used parts to ensure cross compatibility with what you are retrofitting (a 2012 car will have different system components to a 2009 one).
The wiring diagrams on WIS to compare the precise wiring for both pre and post facelift light systems paying particular attention to the correct diagrams for the parts you want to retro fit (see above re equipment availability on an early facelift car Vs a later one).
If that sounds like a lot of effort, it is, but with everything required in place, the programming is relatively simple and everything should then work correctly.
