Dead S550 - How to get out of garage.

My 2010 S550 (164k miles) has died in garage. Will probably have to tow it to a shop. However, , our garage is side entry with a tight turn radius which may give a flatbed tow truck some issues. Plus it will not come out of park. There has got to be some trick to getting into neutral and getting the car out, but I have not discovered what that is I am sure this has happened many times and there is a solution. TIA/.

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ECU dyno tune; EDOK TCU tune; BB intakes; sprintbooster
The tow should have these on board his rig

A good tow has a wheel mounting plate that mounts between the wheel and the hub. This plate has its own bearing that allows the shaft turn backward when moving the car with gearbox locked up.

You need some battery power to move the gears. With key in ON position first move gear to drive like you normally do and then move to neutral. I think that was the procedure when I did it in my own car, but you need battery power, I think AUX battery.

Yeah, should be able to supply power with a jump pack to get into gear. 2010 has one battery, correct?

If the tow driver does not know how to move it (flat bed) - you have the wrong tow company.

The car has died and will not come out of park. So im assuming the battery is dead. Have you tried a charger or a booster? At least to get power so it can be shifted into neutral.

I cant imagine having a Mercedes and a garage and not having a battery charger/tender/maintainer. And then every car should have a battery booster pack in the trunk for an emergency.

If theres no way to get it in neutral then im sure a towing company that deals with towing Mercedes may have the devices needed.

on lesser models you pop the console trim up and use a long tool, poke in a channel to allow the shift lever to move - on grown up cars there's a button there on the trim around the gear selector to get around the pathetic and pointless interlock no one ever needed

note the battery supported method can be seriously naughty - in the Ford Focus manual is specifically calls that you never use and drive - when the battery voltage drops it goes back in park / releases the DSG clutches and locks it all up

You should have a small AUX battery inside the left end of the dashboard. You need this battery to move gear out of "P".
