Engineering mode
this often called "dyno mode"
key on - vehicle stopped - steering wheel buttons left and right (forgotten) - its almost on YouTube from foreign idiots
and you get in a silly info mode on the cluster - one of which - disables PAS ESP and ABS
the comand "engineering mode" won't let you do anything (other than break it or run the clock fix Cd)

interested to here more - it sounds like utter rubbish
if you stupidly wipe the CGW everything will give up behaving in almost any way shape or form possible - but no dealer does that (for starters most wouldn't know how) - the reason it exists is to enable comms around the canbus of features the car was built with - no one is meant to play with it - unless adding options the car could have had, but that one was built without....

found a nice write up of how to get at the dyno mode - and the useless gear change adaptive confusion reset.
Note the gearbox one is a waste of time inside 10 mins its rebuilt it all back to front - as it has no way to know your skills, your mood or the prevailing traffic or weather conditions. Its just like you hold the throttle on the stop for 2 seconds - and the car won't change up properly for 20 minutes - it should ALL have been on throttle position - IDIOTS !!! Thank goodness BM moved away from that disaster 15 years ago on their 8 speed, it does 40% less gear changes because it looks at the nav map and says stuff it, its a hill or a corner leave the dam thing alone !!!!!
Pointless Gearbox ant-brain ECU Reset:
- Turn the ignition key to the "on" position.
- Press the gas pedal to the WOT position (do not click though) and hold it for 5 seconds.
- Now turn the key to the off position but don't remove the key.
- Release the throttle.
- Wait 2 minutes
Dyno Mode:
- Insert your key and turn to the 1st position
- older stuff
- The MFD will then display the battery voltage.
- Press either the up or down arrow until you reach a setting for the Dynamometer Test Mode.
- Using the + or - arrow on the steering wheel, choose the test mode.
- The MFD will then display the disabled safety features of the car, including ABS, ESP...
- Start the car and note all safety features are still disabled.
- To reset, either go through the same procedure and turn off Dyno Mode, or simply turn off and restart the car.
