Interior door knob

The internal knob to open the door in the driver's side broke unexpectedly when opening the door from the inside. My local shop is quoting me a part for close to $1000 (the car is in Peru with a tariff of 20%) but doesn't seem to be sure. Can someone tell me which part number that need to replace it? (see pic )

we are not clairvoyant - you need to strip to find which part is actually broken - then go on ebay and buy it for $30

these cars are so reliable 80% are off the road and sold as secondhand spares...

80% of the road?? Well the W221 was produced from 2007- 2013, making the cars 12-18 years old. My 2008 model stickered for $99,200; whoever could afford that doesn't keep it very long, most are 3-4 year leases. And as time goes on (and multiple owners) maintenance gets deferred or postponed and the cars get neglected, like many older cars. But maintained my 08 S550 is a dream to drive with 130K miles. Still has original 4MATIC air shocks and then some. The only bigger item I have paid for in the last 3 years and 30k miles is the front driveshaft which was $1,700 installed and the front wheel bearings were $1,500. I am way ahead at this point. 36 months of car payments @ say $450/month would have been over $16,000 which is more than I paid for this fine car.

Thank you for the quick response. I'm not looking for the piece that broke. I want to buy the whole mechanism that the handle/know is part of. I've found the external opening handle, but the internal handle doesn't seem to be part of this.

He probably wants us to stop by with his needed part and install it for him. Bet he doesn't even buy a beer.

What we are saying here is that we cant tell what part you need. It could be just the handle, which is replaced after you remove the door card. It could be what the handle connects to right behind the door, and in some cases, it could be a clip that is near the lock. You really need to disassemble the door card and show us what is broken for the best answer. Your pic looks like there is no tension on the lever, not that the lever mechanism broke.
