Brake upgrade W221
Hello,
Has anyone here done a brake retrofit from a S600 to an S350?
I'd like to have larger rotors & pad surface for the next time I need to do brakes. Does anyone perhaps know what I'l need?
I'm thinking that ofc we'll need calipers, rotors, pads, and brake hoses (why not, replace with new while doing it)
Anything else that I'm not thinking of, espc as pertains to the rear axle?
Also, are 17" wheels prohibited with the S600? My winter tyres are 235/55/17 and I don't want to disable my ability to run 17's if I feel like it.
I had done this 20 yrs ago with the BMW 740i, replacing it's brakes with the 750i brakes and the difference was huge on that series of vehicle, rears vented, fronts much larger, ofc I drove much faster then than I do now, but still the safety margin added with the larger surface area was not to be discounted. I'd like to plan ahead for this as I see brakes coming for the S350L next year, I want to get my shopping list in order so I can start hunting for parts on ebay.de
