Unhappy Does anyone know what hose is about???

So i took my car W221 to a mechanic to change headlight about 5 months ago, and the guy forgot to plug that hose to the engine, it was left there like that for 5 months straight but i started have issues with the car cus it automatically increases RPM like i hit the gas or something even though i didnt, the car makes noise "boooooooooooooooo" and just speeds off all of a sudden, i didnt know what to do, so i bought liqui moli to add to the engine oil atleast, i didnt need to remove the engine cover, i could just pour the oil... but i decided to remove the engine cover, thats how i saw the hose was not plugged to the engine. I need to do oil change soon too, but i dont know if its the main problem with my car, any advise?
Now my main question is, what is this hose?? has it caused me a big problem?? what is the hose connected to? the one i circled, is it an alternator ??

It's not an alternator but a SAP (Secondary air pump).
It injects fresh air into the exhaust after a cold start to heat up the cats quickly (with unburnt fuel from extra-extra rich injection).

yes, that was likely your problem. Which side was disconnected? I’d only be concerned if the intake to the air pump was disconnected and it was pulling in dirty air. Some of these pumps have a small filter element in them. Maybe take a peek around . Otherwise make sure it looks clean in there reconnect and after you drive it a little bit it should be all good, imo

The side with arrow was the one disconnected, maybe water and dust has entered the engine ??? should i try doing oil change or something ?? i feel like the mechanic did this on purpose, cus i dont know what that hose has to do with changing headlight, its starting to look like wickedness

these cars like to misfire...

plug in diagnostics likely a std coil failure - I've had 5 in 72k miles - and don't go there with a v12 - would make my 5 failures look like a good day

WOW! Bro you are a genius, i looked it up and it literally shows everything that is currently wrong with my car, especially the first two symptoms on the this list.
By the way "std coil" is the same as ignition coil, right ??

beneath the steering wheel (above the pedals) is s flap fold down to find an ODB2 socket... buy a decent adapter and as a minimum get a good phone app that will talk to the engine management properly

this is a UK site listed only as he bothers to mention what you are buying - this adapter has loads of capability - there are lots of cheap crap out there https://www.bmdiag.co.uk/vgate-vlink...os-and-windows
then get this app and pay peanuts for full functionality - its all brand and by a guy that know what he's doing https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...oft.scanmaster

if you want to talk to every module (a 221 depending upon build spec can have up to 60 different ant brains that control the car - to play with all these you need to upgrade to more serious money tools many of us after year of fighting do it right with this guy https://benzninja.com/

The two are NOT related.

The hose just gets clean filtered air from the airbox to the air injection pump. The pump just sends fresh air to the exhaust manifolds for about 30 seconds after a cold start. Disconnected means the air hasn't been filtered. Pump damage is unlikely but its an inexpensive part anyway.

Misfire is not definitely ignition system problem, as fuel/air mixture could be too lean to ignite ... that a vacuum leak.
If misfire code x0x is accompanied by code x5x the problem is the coil.
